With the next Budget now confirmed for 26 November, we know the headlines and speculation can feel unsettling. As your financial planning team, our priority is to keep you informed and reassured.
We are monitoring developments closely and want to share a brief update with you.
Speculation is rife, but no details will be confirmed until the Budget announcement
The government has confirmed that the next Budget will take place on 26 November. As usual, speculation is already gathering pace and will continue right up to the announcement.
Topics being widely discussed in the media include:
- Inheritance Tax (IHT)
- Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
- Business taxation
- The tax treatment of pensions
- ISA rules
- Wealth taxes
- Stamp Duty and other property taxes
- Income Tax thresholds and the Personal Allowance.
At this stage, nothing has been confirmed. It is impossible, and unwise, for us to make recommendations ahead of the Budget. Acting on speculation risks unnecessary costs or irreversible decisions.
Our approach is to wait for the official detail. Once the chancellor has spoken, we will carefully review the measures and communicate what they mean for you and your financial plan.
In the meantime, please be reassured that we are monitoring developments closely, and we’ll be in touch as soon as we have the facts. If you do have any concerns, we’re here to discuss them with you.
