Two days of training and insights to help us help you even more

We held an incredibly productive team meeting in Glasgow recently, which was a great balance of training, learning, group activities, and fun over two days.

The first day was geared towards business and industry updates and insights, giving us all an up-to-date progress review. Then, to balance what was a heavy day of training, we went for a team dinner and played some games.

We took part in a few fun activities, including blindfolded self-portraits, which led to some interesting and entertaining results. Everyone then tried to guess who was who based on the drawings, adding plenty of confusion and laughter to the session.

On day two, we had some training from the National Bereavement Service (NBS), which focused on practical and empathetic approaches.

Our managing director Andy Pennie said of the training: “Bereavement is something we all face, both personally and professionally, yet it remains one of the most challenging experiences to navigate. The session gave us the clarity and practical tools we need to support others, and ourselves, with greater confidence and compassion.

“This training reminded us that effective client care isn’t just about procedures, it’s about understanding. We’re incredibly grateful to Zoe and the NBS for helping us strengthen one of the most important aspects of our work: being there for people when they need it most.”

Zoe Hamilton Wynne from NBS, told Andy: “I loved working with your team, it was wonderful to work with such an obviously dedicated group, who are driven to offer the best support possible to their clients. Thank you for making me so welcome.”

Then our paraplanners, planners, and managers were treated to a session from financial wellbeing trainer Chris Budd, founder of the Institute for Financial Wellbeing. He works with members of the finance sector to help them improve their clients’ financial wellbeing by helping them become happier and more fulfilled, not just wealthier.
