Simon Wateridge, new Fellow of the Personal Finance Society

Huge congratulations to Simon on achieving this fantastic accolade.

Simon worked incredibly hard to complete his exam objectives while also balancing parental responsibilities. He has well and truly earned the recognition his new qualification brings.

Carla Brown, president of the Personal Finance Society, put it perfectly:

“Seeing the pride, dedication and sheer hard work that’s gone into reaching these milestones is truly inspiring. Each graduate represents the very best of our profession, committed to learning, excellence and putting clients first.

“Congratulations to all who crossed the stage. You’ve earned every bit of this achievement.”

Pre-Budget bake sale raises £338 for b:Friend

On 29 October, we hosted a pre-Budget bake sale in support of our charity partner, b:Friend. The team baked – or in some cases bought – a fantastic selection of cakes, which were sold to clients and neighbouring firms in our office building, with plenty of enthusiastic purchases from our own colleagues too!

The spread included everything from millionaire’s shortbread and “penny on a pint” cupcakes to Halloween-themed treats.

We also held a light-hearted competition, with prizes for the most-voted baker and faker (best shop-bought goodies). Congratulations to Jenna and Tayla, who claimed the titles this year.

The event brought the whole team together for a fun lunchtime, complete with a Budget-themed quiz and a “guess the number of chocolate pennies in the pension pot” challenge – a fitting nod to Intelligent Pensions and the upcoming Autumn Statement.

We’ve also launched a weekly “last-man-standing” Premier League predictor, which is now in full swing.

In total, the team raised £338, which we know b:Friend will put to great use in tackling loneliness and supporting older people in our community.
