Our team are all experts in what they do, and when you work with us, you can expect nothing short of a polished and professional service.
But beyond the money matters, we all lead an array of varied and interesting lives.
Did you know that if you hover over our professional pictures on our Meet the team page, you can get a glimpse of our “other” lives? Behind each profile is another picture of us when we’re “off duty” – and there are all kinds of things to discover!
Here’s a little more about the social side of some of our team members.
Robyn Caffell, business success manager and financial planner
“When I’m not helping clients navigate their retirement, I’m exploring a very different kind of depth – underwater!
“I’ve been a qualified scuba diver since 2010 and completed my training dives in the UK during winter, braving waters as cold as 2 degrees Celsius! I was rewarded with a tropical honeymoon in the Maldives though, with their lovely turquoise seas.
“Since then, I’ve been diving all over the world, from the coral reefs of Australia and the Pacific coast of Mexico to the Mediterranean, South Africa, and even Borneo to see the wild marine life.
“Each dive honestly brings something new. For me, there’s nothing quite like the calm, weightless world that lies beneath the surface.”
Joe Sheridan, financial planner
“Sadly, my other job is not the manager of Arsenal football team, but I’ve supported them for as long as I can remember!
“Sport, and football in particular, have been passions of mine since I was a child. I’ve played to what I call a “decent” level, having been at Watford as a youth player, and then at semi-professional level, before turning to management with a local club called Belstone. I still play the occasional game with the Vets, when my body allows!
“I’ve been an FA-qualified football coach for over 40 years, run the youth section at Belstone, and still coach a couple of the teams.
“Being involved with football has given me some of my happiest memories and some of my best friends, and has also taught me some great life lessons, which I’m now passing on to the younger players.”
Jackie MacDougall, company accountant
“I started my running journey in 2019 when I joined a Couch to 5K course at my local park, run by the Kirkcaldy Wizards’ running club. It was such a positive experience, both in being able to run 5 km by the end but also being part of such a friendly, inspiring, and supportive group.
“I’ve never looked back and have run up to a half-marathon distance, raising hundreds of pounds for charity. I’m never going to be the fastest or the furthest runner, but running has changed my life and my health, both physically and mentally.
“I run 3–4 times a week because I can’t think of a better way of clearing my mind, keeping fit, and socialising with friends. And because it’s impossible to stay in a bad mood after a run!”
Robert McCleneghen, trainee paraplanner
“I started playing golf at the age of 14 at Dullatur Golf Club and quickly developed a passion for the game. At 18, shortly after competing in the Scottish Boys’ Matchplay Championship at Southerness, I earned a scholarship to play collegiate golf in the United States (West Virginia), where I competed across the country in National Collegiate Athletic Association events and reached a +3 handicap.
“After returning to Scotland, I worked as a caddie at Royal Dornoch Golf Club while continuing to play competitively for the University of the Highlands and Islands. I’ve since settled in Prestwick, where I now enjoy playing recreational golf and maintain a scratch (0) handicap. I also hold a Level 2 coaching qualification from the Scottish Golf Union (SGU).”
Andrew Pennie, managing director
“Music has always been a passion of mine, and unlike some (my wife and daughter included!), I’ve always had a soft spot for the bagpipes. I didn’t actually start learning to play until I was 30, but since then, I’ve built up a repertoire of tunes, most of which are, thankfully, recognisable!
“I gave the pipe band experience a go, but quickly discovered that marching and playing at the same time was a step too far. These days, I enjoy playing for special occasions; weddings, funerals, Burns Night, and without fail, every new year.”
